Hysteresis loss refers to the energy dissipated as heat when the magnetic domains within a material undergo magnetization and demagnetization cycles in response to changing magnetic fields. It is a result of the internal friction and molecular reorientation within the material.Silicon steel is carefully manufactured to have a specialized domain structure. The material is composed of small, uniform grains with well-defined crystal orientations. This optimized domain structure minimizes the energy losses associated with domain wall movements during magnetization and demagnetization processes.Silicon steel contains a significant amount of silicon, typically around 2-3.5%. The presence of silicon helps to reduce magnetic domain wall motion, resulting in lower hysteresis losses. Silicon steel with higher silicon content tends to exhibit lower hysteresis losses.
