DESCRIPTION
The cold-rolling process used to produce CRGO steel results in a more uniform grain orientation in the steel, which in turn leads to better magnetic properties. Specifically, the cold-rolling process causes the grains in the steel to align themselves along the direction of rolling, creating an anisotropic structure that is highly conducive to magnetization.
In addition to the cold-rolling process, CRGO steel is often coated with an insulating layer to further reduce core losses and improve the performance of electrical devices. The insulating layer is typically a thin oxide or nitride coating that is applied to the surface of the steel.
