DESCRIPTION
Oriented silicon steel is a ferrosilicon alloy with very low carbon content. In deformed and annealed steel plates, the grains are randomly distributed. The alloy has a silicon content of 1.5% to 3.0%, or a combined silicon and aluminum content of 1.8% to 4.0%. The product is usually cold rolled sheet or strip, mainly used in the manufacture of motors and generators.
