The research of oriented silicon steel began in the 1930s. In 1930, the American scholar Goss developed the cold rolling and annealing process of 3% Si oriented silicon steel, which made an important contribution to the development of oriented silicon steel. The technology was adopted by Armoc Company in the United States, and the production process was optimized. Through further research on the formation mechanism of Goss texture and the action mechanism of corrosion inhibitor, the damage slash and magnetic properties of directional silicon steel were more stable. The MnS inhibitor product developed in the 1950s was named ordinary oriented silicon steel, GO steel.
